Scratcher

project overview
Concept design for Scratcher, a tattoo culture magazine exploring the underground side of the industry. The publication challenges traditional tattoo norms by highlighting self-taught artists, unconventional artwork, and voices that exist outside of the formal apprenticeship system. The project includes a custom masthead, cover design, editorial spreads, and a companion mobile application concept. Layouts focus on bold typography, strong visual hierarchy, and expressive imagery to reflect the rebellious and DIY spirit of tattoo culture. The visual direction draws inspiration from traditional tattoo illustration, zine culture, and underground art publications, blending editorial structure with a raw, alternative aesthetic.
